Seattle Node.js May 2013 Meetup

24 April 2013

5/8/13 Update: We will be meeting on the 8th floor of SURF. On the 8th floor, go in through the front doors, and turn left to find the open meetup space.

The Seattle Node.js Meetup group is kicking things into gear with our next event, scheduled for Wednesday, May 8 and hosted downtown at the SURF Incubator. We’ll have pizza, beers, talks, and lightning talks to get you socializing, listening, and talking about all things Node.js. Please RSVP at the Meetup event page.

We’re also launching a new group website at http://seanode.github.io/, hosted at our GitHub repository, for additional articles, posts, and information from the local Node.js community. And, we’ve started a new Twitter account, @seattlenode, which we hope you’ll follow.

Agenda

6:30 - 7:00pm: Start with pizza and beer, courtesy of MovingWorlds.

7:00pm - 7:30pm: Ryan Roemer will present a talk on “Node.js in Production”. Ryan will discuss the good, the bad, and the ugly technical details of running Node.js services for the world’s largest Spanish learning website, SpanishDict.com.

7:30pm - on: We will turn the rest of our time over to the group for a series of lightning talks. Please bring your ideas and projects to share with the group!

Venue

The SURF Incubator is located in the Exchange building at: 821 Second Ave., Seattle, WA 98104. See their location page for additional details. The Exchange building closes at 6:00pm, so we will have meetup members helping out to get you inside and up to the 8th floor for the presentations. Please message the meetup page if you are having any difficulties getting in.

Update: We will be meeting on the 8th floor. Please come to the entrance at Marion St. and 2nd Ave, where our volunteers will let you in and help you up the elevator to SURF’s offices.
